This is my first 622 post. I searched the forum and didn't see this issue posted, so here goes:

I bought an HDTV and just made the switch to Dish after 14 years with Directv and about 8 years with Tivo. Though the 622 is a long way from the simplicity of the DirecTivo, it is very usable. One annoying issue, however, keeps coming up.

When I record a locked event on tuner 2 and try to watch it on tuner 1, I am asked for a password before I can even see what the program is. That's understandable.

If I then click on START to view the program I am asked for the password again. That seems quirky, but I can deal with it.

So am I am now watching the program and I hit the SKIP FWD button to jump past the commercials before the program begins. The second time I hit the SKIP buttom the replay stops and I am asked for the password again. Now that's just crazy.

This has happened over and over again. Any ideas why this is acting this way?

Not sure why it's doing it....it's something in your setup.
You can completely disable passwords by disabling locks in the locks menu. That should stop the issue from happening.
Or, keep locks enabled, but only for the items you care about having locked.

Long-time TiVo users tend to have a difficult time switching to the 622, even though, most will tell you, given some time, the 622 interface is easier and more straightforward than the TiVo.
