mtnagal has found a way to delete a To Do item with one keystroke!

Press List and then the Yellow button to go to your To Do list. Highlight an item to delete.

Step 1: Press STOP once.

There is no step 2! It is only one keystroke!

Thank you, Matt!

This has just been added to the Unofficial HR20 Tips & Tricks (http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?p=747592) as a part of 52 undocumented tips and tricks.

There must be still more great tricks that we have yet to find. Do you have any not already in the Tips & Tricks?

Wow. Nominated for a sticky and being mentioned in a thread title all in one day!

What I find weird though is why switch from the double dash convention?

Though I will say that I love all these one or double click shortcuts. Since my unit has been a tad flaky since 10b, I went to the R10 and made sure all the new SL's I set up on the HR20 are set up on the R10 and I'm loving the speed/shortcuts of the HR20.

Cool! Thanks Matt. I have been baffled why the -- doesn't work here!

Excellent find! I'll make good use of this in my weekly repeat episode cleanup.

Hmm, I don't think I want to be able to delete anything with just one keystroke.

Hmm, I don't think I want to be able to delete anything with just one keystroke.I would argue that the double dash is basically one keystroke too. Once you decide to do the double dash, I'd say you pretty much do it so that it would be impossible to only click once. I know I've been over zealous with the double dash before. BUT, I love that it's so simple.

And really, it's not like it's deleting a recording that you can't get back. It's just deleting something that is scheduled to record, so if you accidentally deleted it, you could always add it back.

I wish the UI kept up with as fast as I can double-dash. I was in folder, deleting something, the deletion was one of those that moved the folder and hence me out of the folder, and I deleted the next item in the MyPlaylist not the next item in the folder. UI design should rarely send a reasonable user to unexpected places...

Cheers,
Tom

Cheers,
TomYep, that's annoying. I'm thinking there is some logic in where it's sending you, but I haven't tested it enough to figure it out.

I forgot to note it...

I also added the trick for getting the HR20 to tell you when it has been updated. It is in the Dimming the LEDs section on page 5. Doug Smith and others had suggested it some time ago and I just forgot!

But now, IT"S IN THERE!

Thanks Doug!

Anyone else have a trick that we are missing?
