Now if I only had another $9,999 I could afford one. I read somewhere that Plasma is the wave of the future for HDTV manufacturers, that Plasma is their ultimate goal and there will be no more RPTV's. Too cool, I drool everytime I look at one of these puppies.

FWIW, Toshiba (http://www.toshiba.com/tacp/news/may_23_02_lcos.html) is coming out with a 57" Lcos display this Winter that will do the full 1080p HD resolution. Cost is under $9K.

LCD technology has a long ways to go before it is really ready for TV. If you go to the video store and look at HDTV crt or Plasma next to LCD you will see a lot more detail in the CRT/Plasma displays.

Plasmas are getting a lot better, but they still tend to have a lot of noise in solid color areas. This is very noticable in large areas of gray. I figure they will have the bugs worked out by the time they come down in price to under $5k for 60+ inches and have 1080i resolution.
