Issues with Samsung and H20?

I seem to recall that there were issues with the D* boxes and Samsung equipment. We have an H20 with a Samsung DVD recorder. If I try to copy something over, I can't use the S-video or coax into the DVD recorder. I can only use the regular cables to use with the DVD recorder/ Didn't somebody say something D* and Samsung having issues before? Thanks!
