No signal on some transponders; weak signal on others

Just got my older DirectTV receiver (HUGHES Model HIRD-D1) and Dish working for the very first time.

I do not have a signal on transponders 12, 18, 20 and 26.

I have a very weak signal (30) on transponders 4 and 28.

Is this due to spot beams for local channels?

I live in north eastern Oklahoma.

Yes those transponders you listed are D* spotbeams.
