Help Upgrading HD!

I currently own a Bell ExpressVu 5100 (Canada), which I believe is the same as a DishPVR 501. I am interested in upgrading my drive as 30 hours of programming just isn't enough. Can anyone point me to where I could find out how to do this?

I found something on another chat room that describes how he did it. The idea is to simply ghost the old drive in a PC and drop the new drive into the PVR. All your programming stays intact.

This almost sounds too simple. I don't know if there are any gotchas here or not.
