I have posted about this problem before, and I appreciate the replies with people trying to help, but I am still having the same problems! Hockey season is fast approaching, and I am getting nervous. I need it fixed!
I am having certain channels freeze up at random times...but consistently. I have been on the phone with directv endless times, and been through their troubleshooting checklist over and over again. I changed everything...EVERYTHING. Dish, LNB, cable, reciever, you name it. So I finally broke down and got a DTV service guy over here...he just left and tells me it could be the receiver, as the one I replaced with could have the same problem as my first. I am sick of not getting any answers and the guy even said to me he had no idea what to do. So this is the only place I feel I may get some answers.
Now, the channels I lose switched places...or transponders perhaps. I was losing my locals (980's) on a regular basis, every few minutes or so, for a few minutes at a time ,until about a month ago...now they are fine and I lose my ESPN channels as often as I did the locals. (206 and up) Comedy Central (249) never was a problem before, is now.
So, my question is, can anyone help? I have done everything I know how to and some stuff I learned along the way. I am in the Ft Lauderdale, FL area if that is helpful.... THANKS

$
Steve

Oh, sorry, you should know my signal on all transponders except 4 and 18 is 80 and above...all the time, even when the channels freeze. Thanks again

Sorry, I missed your previous thread about this. To start with, what model is your receiver, and you have any RG59 cable anywhere in the system?

Greetings,

How is the dish mounted? Is it on a pole long enough such that the wind could cause it to vibrate?

You didn't use Monster cable, by any chance, did you? If you did, your surprise could be lurking in there.

Good luck!

Looks like the problem is gone....it was the receiver, apparently. I had already replaced my 1st with a new one , which had the same problem as the 1st. What are the chances of that? So I tried again, bought a 3rd and havent had a problem for 2 days. Crossing my fingers!
