I receive my digital local channels OTA via the vip 211. The video/audio comes through perfect. However, when I try to view the program guide on the 211 for the OTA channels, all I receive for program description is "Digital Service". The info button on the remote displays "No description available for this event". I receive this all the time for every OTA channel received via the 211. All Dish channels of course have program description displaying just fine.

Is there a way to receive program info for OTA channels via the 211? I have the 211 hooked to my TV via HDMI. If I use my TV directly to receive the OTA digital channels(ie connect the antenna directly to the TV and use the TV's tuner), I receive the program info just fine (of course via the TV's program guide).

Your TV sees the PSIP data transmitted by each OTA station.

This data is highly variable and not generally fit for use by DVR's. So Dish, Direct, and all other providers use third party programming onfo providers for their guide data.

If you want this data you must subscribe to local channels over Dish.
