I live north of the river in Kansas City, up near Liberty. Has anybody had any success with an indoor HD antenna? Which one is it and do you like it?

You'll probably get the best advice in the "Local HDTV Reception Forum" at http://www.avsforum.com .... look for the Kansas City thread where you can ask folks in your area what works best for them.
Also, if you haven't already, check out http://www.antennaweb.org.

Thanks. I've looked at the latter site, but sometimes, you know how it is, some just work well better in other areas than others.

I am up here with you.
I am using a Terk HDTVa Amplified Directional Indoor HDTV Antenna
I get 90's on all channels except KMBC (ABC). That comes in at about 75-80.

Great! Thanks! Where did you get and what did you pay for it? Also, do you notice a significant difference with the OTA compared to D*'s locals?

I got it at Amazon for about $30.
The only thing I have noticed between OTA and the Dtv locals is stability. The OTA are still in MPEG2 compared to the ones being sent by DTV. My HR20 is currently having problems with the MPEG4 version being broadcast by DTV.
Quality seems to be the same between both. I would prefer using the DTV to save space but after missing 15 mins of 24 last night due to a reboot while fast forwarding I will wait until the problem is fixed.
