It seems that the majority of problems with caller ID not working on the HR20 very well may be the DSL filter in use. If it is working for you, could you post the brand/type of DSL filter you're using? This may give others some direction for something to try.

I already tried to get people to do this last week (http://www.dbstalk.com/showpost.php?p=781408&postcount=26). Though admittedly, the title of your thread is much more direct. I hope you have more luck.
Here's what I posted in that thread about mine - it's a Corning filter, but it doesn't really have a model number that I could fine.

R U Sure it is the DSL filter and not just the quality of the line feeding it?
All of the phone lines in my 15+ year old house that have had the HR20 hooked to it are
only 1 to 2 years old. I ran them myself.

I also replaced the line coming from my TELCO box to my patch panel and that is less than a year old.

I have been a crusader for pointing to an incompatable DSL filter, if such a thing exists. I have had the HR20 since Oct and the CID Never worked most of the time would get "Please subscribe message, sometimes nothing. I got hold of another filter from a friend and now you can't stop it from logging and notifying calls!!!
Both Filters from Verizon DSL Kits at different times:
Small "2Wire" reads for single line phones- never worked
Larger "2wire" reads for 2 line phones- works like a champ!!!
Good Luck!!!

No, I'm not sure it is related to the filter. I am going by messages that I read here, and wanted to get names of filters that are KNOWN to work, that's all.

Your right, it is interesting. And I think someone should be paying attention to this because weather it's for single line or 2 line, there is definetly something going on with the DSL filter and caller ID!!!! Earl???

I have tried the long EWIRE filter that came with the DSL modem. It says for two line. It does NOT work although I get the message that says contact TELCO to have CID turned on. I also have small Belkin DSL filters and they also do not work.

Spoke too soon, I switched DSL filters to the 2wire one and it workedd for a few calls then stopped.
Super.

So I went to Radio Shack and got This DSL Filter (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103593&cp=&sr=1&origkw=dsl+filter&kw=dsl+filter&parentPage=search) and the HR20 CallerID seems to be working again for the last several hours. Note it is a 2 line filter.
I make no guarantees about it working for anyone else nor do I expect it to keep working, I am just putting it out there as a note of interest.
