does the h20 come with hdmi cables?

The installer is coming in2 weeks with my new box and dish. I want to make sure i have some hdmi cables bought incase they dont supply them. So does anybody know if direct provides these.

Installers are supposed to provide HDMI cables with the H20 or HR20 installations if needed for your video equipment, but some don't.

Some do, some don't. I'd buy one from a store that will not give you any problems for returning it unopened. Then you could just take it back if the tech shows up with one.

The HR-20 I bought from Circuit City included an HDMI cable.

The HR20 I bought from Best Buy in Rochester, MN last week had an HDMI cable in the box (also had an HDMI sticker on the box). The included cable was not gold plated, did not include the EMI ferrites at the ends of the cable, and was a smaller diameter than the $9.00 cable I purchased at NewEgg.

umm seems like they have started including the cables with them because initially the only rcvr that came with the HDMI cable was the HR10

The replacement HR20 that I had Fedex'd to me from D* had the yellow HDMI sticker on the box, and came with the cable inside.

Yeah, it is good news. Certainly wasn't the case for earlier shipments.

Probably not good news for Circuit City and Best Buy -- now folks (who don't know about monoprice and the like) won't have to purchase the cable from them at hugely inflated prices. Though I suppose they can still attempt to upsell monster cables.

I had two HR20s installed 1 week ago today and both boxes included an HDMI cable.

The original post asked about the H20, not the HR20. I bought one at Circuit City about a month ago and it did not have an HDMI cable.

AFAIK, the only evidence we have that the installer should supply a cable is a training video not intended for the general public. That video could have been contradicted by memos or verbal communications at several levels, and obviously we would not know.
