Hi everyone, first post but I've read through a lot of threads to try to find this answer and you folks seem very knowledgable and helpful.

I've had Dish Network set up for about 2 weeks. I had issues with the picture quality almost immediately. The picture seemed VERY dark (even after fiddling with the TV video settings) and the dark colors seemed "pixelated" quite a bit.

Sports programming seems worse than other shows, but even on HBO, in a dark scene, there was very, very little definition.

I called DISH and they said the box was bad, sent me a new one and for the first few days, the picture seemed better.

Today, I'm geeking out and watching soccer almost all day. The picture was miserable on my 32" TV (TV1). I ran upstairs to TV2 (27") and it was much better. By the end of the day, the US-Demark game on ESPN was unwatchable downstairs and marginally better upstairs.

I called DISH, they had me do a couple resets (Both with the power button and unplugging the box from the wall). The picture downstairs seems very clear now--on everything but sports. I found a football game on and the picture gets pretty "pixelated" when there is a wide shot and a lot of action going on...it almost seems like the TV can't process all that info.

Anyone have any suggestions? I've tried hooking up on RCA, S-Video, coax...nothing seems to help. I've tried swapping new cables out and unplugging and re-plugging in just about everything. No change.

If I can't watch sports clearly, I'm afraid I made a mistake dropping my cable.

Hopefully, I'm just overlooking something.

Thanks!

Your TV's are large, but have you tried swapping the TV's or placing a different TV where your rcvr is to see if the same problem occurs? I'm assuming you have a dual-tuner rcvr looking @ your post. It's rare for two rcvrs to have the same issue. But I've had it happen a few times. :welcome_s

I would suggest checking the settings on your TV. Take a look at the following settings:

Brightness

Sharpness

I would turn both down to a very low setting.

Increase the Picture setting.

This usally has a dramatic impact on the picture quality.

I think a little more info is needed. Several people have posted responses but it does not appear that you have come back to them.
Please tell us some background info.
Which Dish receiver?
Who did the install?
Were your TVs working with good quality pictures in this same installation via Cable prior to going to Dish?
Can you check your signal strengths on the installation screen?
