I will not say who I work for, but my company has just been bought out by a major telecommunications company. The base plan of this company is to offer a third entertainment option over the phone line. This gives me the same concerns as cable tv does as far as reliability. But in the big picture it should offer a more competitive pricing schedule for both cable and dish owners.

I have to assume the O.P. was talking about fiber delivery being rolled out by some "phone" companies (e.g. Verizon FIOS) and planned by others. In which case most of us are well aware of it.

Looks like AT&T is going to compete more heavily into the FIOS space. :D

Wonder if it will take 10 years to roll it out nationally like Verizon's "system". Isn't that what FIOS stands for - Forget It Operating (in your area) Soon?
