Install attempt #3 is scheduled for 2/12. The past 2 installs failed because they didn't bring the requisite under eave mount to mount the 5-lnb dish to my roof. I'm concerned that this won't solve the problem, though. The installer today said that the eave may not be long enough. Which makes me wonder, how long does the eave need to be to accomodate the under eave mount?

The new 5LNB dish requires a lot more precise alignment than previous dishes and therefore in addition to the simple mounting of the base, two braces are installed to provide added stability. I gather that without all the bracing, the likelyhood of repeated alignment adjustments might be required

I have about 40 inches for the under eave mount. Will that be enough?

If you need help with a proper eave mount, I know a manufacturer that has designed and fabricated several mounts for company's and customers.

I have seen eave less than 40" with under mount just fine. It does not take much room under there, but the support arms are a tough job for tile roof if the gutter is in the way.

If you want to make sure it gets mounted with the under eave mount, purchase it yourself and either have it already mounted, or have it ready for the installer.

Under eave mounts are not included in the free standard installation and most HSPs don't even carry them. That may very well be the reason why #1 and #2 installers didn't bring one with them.
