i bought a samsung hls6188w and got set up with directv high def services. they set me up with a h-20 reciever and i have spent the last 5 months trying to get a decent picture. my colors are bleeding together especially in action shots like football games etc.. directv has been out numerous times and cannott fix this. they have replaced every component. dish, cable, reciever etc.. i ve already had samsung replace my tv and that didnt work either. football on non hi-def is almost unwatchable. and even in high def the pciture still bleeds/blurs. i can watch dvd's mostly with almost no bleeding. directv has given up on me and now samsung wants to pick my tv up for inspection. however i still believe that i have a directv problem and dont want to give up my tv for a month just to have them say theres nothing wrong with it. does anyone here have any idea what my problem might be i dont feel im getting the whole story from directv. or has any one else had these issues.
please help!!!

This is not a common problem, so let's try to get some more information ....

* How is the H20 connected to your TV?
* Have you tried using other connections between the H20 and TV? Any change?
* Do all channels do this? Which ones?
* Do all programs do this, or just sports?
* Do you see this problem with any other video sources (DVD?)?

Is your Samsung TV DLP-based? DLP TVs often have "rainbow" artifacts on fast motion video. Perhaps that is what you're seeing?

its connected via component cables. ive tried using hdmi cables but have the samsung disese when the picture flashes on and off. but the picture quality with the hdmi made no difference. most all the channals do this. nfl network. tbs, usa etc... even the high def channels like my locals abc, cbs. fox, nbc. even hi def espn. its not as bad on the high def channels vs. the non high def channels. and its not just sports. you can watch a news show and see the skin tones bleed into each other as they move there heads. dicovery hd probably has the least issues with this problem but i guess there the best out there. as far as dvd's go i do notice it more on older dvd's. but even on new dvd's i will see it now and again especially when theres smoke drifting accross the screen. but its minor compared to my dtv issues. my first tv did the same thing and now samsung is suggesting that i had 2 tvs with the same problem. so that could be the case but i doubt it. im guessing since theres alot of talk here that what you said about it not being common is not what i was hoping for. i had figured that all dtv customers had this issue. i was also told that i have this problem due to my screen size. and yes it is a dlp. its not really like a rainbow its more like blurring. the one tv guy called in video compression. but its not pixelated. its like the picture cant keep up with the motion or movement. like in a football game as the camera pans the field you can see the green turn brown and vice versa as the dead and live grass cant be produced in real time
