Reformat 501 ?

My 501 is only allowing for 30 hours of recording. As I recall, it originally allowed 40. Is this correct and if so, is there a way to get the unit to wipe and reformat the drive?

The space available is dependent on what you record. So for example if you record high speed action like nascar, you will have less space available because those types of programs take up more space. You can test this by deleting ALL your programs and you'll see you have the rated hours for teh 501 (40).

I believe the 501 starts with 35 hours.

I always got 32-35 hours with the mix of channels I recorded.
