CBS owns stations in Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Green Bay, L.A., Miami, Minneapolis, NYC, Philad Pittsburgh, SLC, and SF.

Could Viacom create a news channel taking newscasts from all these O&O stations, airing them different times, so one can see different news from around the country?

Similar to SoapNet but with newscasts instead of soaps.

I suppose Hearst-Argyle, FOX and NBC could do similar. They own many big stations across the country.

They can put national advertising doing commercials if needed.

A News Package from feeds from across the country. Would the DBS providers be interested in a news channel packages? They could bundle them with AT150 or Total Choice Plus. Or make them a "premium" all revenue going to stations and providers.

Would customers be interested?

Could syndex be a problem? I know WGN America doesnt have the morning WGN news (why?, which station groups complained?) When I had WPIX on cable...maybe 3 years ago now, WPIX News was guaranteed not to be blacked out. WFMZ has certain stories from CNN, but none of the Philly stations care.

I wish WGN Superstation would have the WGN Morning News on it. For some reason I always wanted to see that newcast.

Expressvu carries the local WGN Feed complete with the Morning news and the WB programming. About 3 months ago they mysteriously switched the Feed from WGN superstion to the local feed, I think because it carries more sports.

cool idea... but I don't think you would get a lot of people to pay for something like that.
