Hi,
I didn't see a welcome section so I am posting this here. I am new to this forum, somehow haven't seen it before. My name is Justin I have been a DirecTV Satellite technician for 3 years, and have noticed that this forum knows more about satellite receivers than DirecTV does themselves. Most of my co-workers know squat about anything past just flicking channels and it's a shame. And I hope with the info I get from this forum I can help more customers with the things I am learning here. I am running networking cable to my HR20 today, I'm sure I will be posting questions about that soon.

Well, 1st of all, a HUGE welcome to you. And I hope you're able to convince your colleagues to come along with you. The information on this site from people is trule incredible at times. I and others have learned more on this site than you can believe (and there's still so much I have yet to read...especially before my HR20 arrives on 2/8). Additionally, I think it's frustrating for many of us when we call customer service and we know more than they do. I don't see it as their fault (as someone who runs call centers), but something management needs to work on.

With that said, I for 1 am really pleased to see you here and ask/comment away!!

Welcome, Justin

There is a lot of good information on this site. As a consumer, I always appreciate posts from those of you in the industry. A lot of what we hear through the retail channels is less than, hmmmmm, accurate.
