upgradding to HD questions

I have been with DN for about 4 years and I need to upgrade to HD. I read somewhere that they will offer better HD packages in Feb and should wait, is this true?
Also what is the difference between ATT dish network packages and the just the packages you get from dish network directly?

Next month you'll be able to lease a 622 receiver for no up front cost. That alone is worth waiting for, rather than paying the lease fee ($299 I think) right now. I have no idea about an AT&T Dish package, though.

I think its 199 right now.

I paid this about a week ago, because I didn't want to wait. I am kinda hoping that I can call dish thursday or friday and get the other deal somehow, but don't know if they do that sorta thing.

What do you think the chances are?

Thanks guys. I talked to them today and tried to pressure me to upgrade today and was told that they have no idea about pricing starting thursday. The lasy on the line said that not all customers are going to qualify.
I almost pulled the trigger till she said that I have to pay 199 upfront. She said that I could buy the receiver myself but it will be 500 for it alone.
I will wait and see. ATT said that I have to wait 6 months before I can join them as a new customer (after I leave dishnetwork that is).
I'm hoping for a good deal. 2 days to go.
