Hi -

I am just starting to hookup my new Slingbox and had a question about location. My entertainment center is pretty packed and the only place I have for it is on top of the HR20.

I am really concerned about heat. My HR20 is running at 122degrees and does have good ventilation.

Am I gonna kill the Slingbox?

Thanks!

AJ

If you put it on top of the HR20, you are covering up vent holes.

As long as your AV cables are long enough you can stick it anywhere. I have mine on top of my hr20, but my hr20 is not in a cabinet and has plenty of air circulating around it, plus it is in the basement where the ambient temp is around 66 degrees.

Thanks all for your responses.

I ended up finding another spot for it but I did have another question

During the setup, the HR20 was not an option. I could choose the H20 or the HR10-250.

What did you guys choose?

Thanks!

AJ

Whoa...Thanks. I found it under Satellite/Free-To-Air receiver.

I would have never found it.

Thank you

Are the extra inputs for multiple DVR's ? I have a SD tivo in the spare room, will it work with it? what else will sling work with?

The two major differences/advantages of the Pro is that (1) it also has an analog tuner built in so you can stick basic cable or an ota antenna into it, and (2) you can add the HD dongle if you want to use component inputs from your HD receiver.
