Any word about cost and when the package will be available for the upcoming season?

Umm....
There's been a bunch of posts about the upcoming exclusive DirecTV contract. It's supposedly going to be announced in the next two weeks. I'm sure we'll get a cost at that point.
Thanks. I'm waiting for the package/cost information too. It's the only way I can get the White Sox games since all I can get is FS Detroit.

Sen. Kerry has stuck his nose into the EI so D may not be able to get the deal  Sen. Kerry is a dork as far as I'm concerned--I hope I can say that in here :eek2:

yea why is he messing with the free market? DTV bid 100 million, Cable bid only 70 million. Its called capitalism, if cable wanted it so bad they could have ponied up more money, can't block DTV because cable is being cheap.

Sen. Kerry needs something to do since he has decided not to make another run to be President. So I guess EI is what he is going to do

Those senate hearings tomorrow are just political grandstanding of course nothing will come of them.

I hope not. But I did send Sen. Kerry an e-mail asking if there weren't more important things going on in the country and the world that he could be working on

Just curious, not being negative, is there anything for us to be gained by having the sole rights? I have the ST, but I would have it even if it wan't exclusive to D.

Not sure if DTV having sole rights will gain DTV subscribers anything...it may even drive up the EI price due to a "monopoly". Personally, I'm a fan of competition so the price remains competitive. However, I really enjoy EI and will continue to purchase (as long as price doesn't double or triple...:eek2: )

Is there any competition in pricing EI between the providers? I thought MLB dictated the price of EI as the other controlling interests do for their package (NHL, ESPN, etc).
I don't think there's any gain for the end users, it's just another reason for people to sub to D*.

Maybe just whatever advantage there is to customers by enlarging the overall subscriber base.
I think the only way it could be unfair was if only D could have bid on EI.
That wasn't the case. Everyone else had their chance, but D came up with the best offer :)
