as the other two tuners? For example, can you pause live TV, go back, etc. like you can on the HD/digital tuners? Is there anything different or missing from the OTA tuner? Haven't made the move to the 622 yet and since DAISH does not offer locals in my area, I have to be sure the 622 gives me everything I'm expecting. I know there won't be a guide and that I'll have to set it manually to record, but I'm looking for anything else that might be an issue.

Thanks.

Yes, the OTA tuner works exactly like the satellite tuners. But remember it is an ATSC tuner and only tunes digital OTA signals.

Digitals to include HD locals right?

Thanks for the reply.

I thought the HD locals would appear on the guide.. When my local Dish satellite retailer demoed the VIP622, the OTA locals appeared on the guide..

?

EPG for OTA is available for the primary OTA channels if you subscribe to locals with Dish, otherwise everything says "Digital Channel".

For subchannels, Dish has been periodically (a bunch happened today for instance) slowly adding more subchannel EPG information for OTA subchannels as well but again only if you subscribe to locals.

The digital OTA subchannels are twitchy. Here I get some channel info on some of them, but not on others.

For example :
012-01 - I get the channel guide
012-02 - This is really CW and no guide

And I think you have to subscribe to the sat locals to get any guides at all, I could be wrong on that though.

I do not have the locals available to me via DISH, so I am expecting that the channel number will appear on the guide, but under the title, I expect it to only say something like "Local Digital" or something similar which is how my 6000 receiver currently does. But I find it interesting that the analog stations that match up with the digital stations do show the titles of the shows and give a description when you click on info. If I get some guide data on the 622, that would be a real bonus and make it a whole lot easier to record.

That is correct. No Sat locals, no guide data on OTA.
