Help with remote question (Power) HR20

Hi everyone I just upgraded from a HR10-250 to Hr20 and programmed the remote to my Panny plasma and when I have the remote in the Directv position and hit off on the remote both tv and receiver shut off. Arent I supposed to keep the HR20 on all the time so it can record just like the HR10-250? If I recall the Hr10-250 didnt even have a power button. Thanks, Chuck

hr never shuts off.. just turns off vid/audio and lights

Power Off = Standby Mode
It will still record your shows and all that good stuff in standby mode.
