I just had a 5lnb dish installed. Shouldn't I have gotten to keep the 3lnb?

Why would you want it. I sold mine at atag sale after they installed the 5 lnb

The tech that installed my new dish made it clear that they are not allowed to remove the old equipment, unless it is in the way of, or in the place of new dish to be installed;

They removed my 3 lnb dish, but left the mount on the roof at my request to keep the holes in the roof sealed. They left the old dish with me for. They also left the old multiswich.

D* mounted my AT-9 right next to the old dish. They removed the old dish and left the old mount because they didn't want to be responsible for any leaks. I had no problem with that.

My old dish is hanging on a hook im my garage basically as an ornament. My wife keeps asking me if I'm ever going to throw it out.

If they had taken it, I would not have cried.

The installer left mine. I mentioned that it was useless to me, and that I would just toss it out. He said, "NO, you should keep it." He told me that if I ever needed to I could unhook one of my receivers take the dish and receiver with me and hook it up temporally where ever....... He even showed me how to set it, he locked it into position so that all I have to do is set it straight and align it with the bubble inside the top of the tube and move it from side to side, not up and down, to find the satellite.

For me that is a great idea. The next time I have to evacuate and move out of my house and into a FEMA trailer again, I'll be able to watch DirecTv.

I told them to leave my 3 LNB since I own it.

As to why? Because if something dies in the LNB or something with the new dish it will take me all of 10 minutes to hook the 3LNB dish back up while I wait for a new LNB or what not.

Same thing when I first got a 3LNB, I kept the old 18" round dish around, just in case.
