I use a dish 500 here in Seattle (dual LNB) I think that I'll need a 24" or 30" dish for use in Alaska. Where can I find one, and what would be the proper decription of such a thing?

Where in Alaska ?

Some places, you'll need bigger than 30", especially to get 110 right now. And they may very be separate dishes.

I have a daughter in Fairbanks. Will she need any additional equipment or bigger dish beyond the Dish 500? I was planning on sending her a system from California.

I use 24" dishes in TX to avoid rain fade, you will need a lot bigger in Alaska. 36" would probably be the minimum you should use to get nice reliable singnal.

Dish Depot sells larger dishes for use in the Caribbean, but shipping them from FLA to Alaska may be a bit expensive.
