I have had a HR 20 ordered since Jan. 6. They were a no show on first date Jan. 25. No call just did not show. They called on second date Feb. 1 and said would be here but at 3pm. called to say tech had a family problem and would not be here. Called D.* and was told tech had called for directions but no one at home. Not true home all day and have call waiting so tech lied about calling. Was set for date three for Feb. 13. I have a 3 lnb dish and four lines comming to the family room. All that needs to be done is plug two lines in and act. the cards. They could come back later and install the 5 lnb dish. The tech could set me up in less than ten min. or just leave me the HR 20 and I will plug it in myself. If I call and ask will they do this or can they do this. I have been trying to get this thing set up for over a month now. I have already wasted two days and I do not want to wast more time talking to a CSR if they will not help. I had asked when I ordered if they could just send me the equipment and I would install everything myself. I was told NO WAY AT ALL IT COULD HAPPEN. I was given a $20 credit due to the first missed install. Is this about right. Have not called yet about secound miss install. It really upsets me when I call and am told that I am an A. list person and important I am. What a joke. The CSRs no longer are nice on the phone and I am sure they could care less about my problem.

Sorry, 'bout all this. I guess you might try customer retention. As an A-list'er they often have the ability to arrange some things. For instance, they might get you an earlier install date--and a phone number for the installation company. With a phone call to my installation company and a chat with a supervisor, I managed to get a drop off install when they messed up my most recent installation. Driver was required to make the activation phone calls, but it took us just a couple minutes.

Or check on the Directv website for your order, see if you can adjust the date and get the phone number.
