Thanks in advance for the help, here goes. I have two 501 recievers, one upstairs and the other downstairs, both SD. I want to go to HDTV upstairs and leave SD downstairs, I desire DVRs in both location. I will be purchasing a new HDTV. . questions:

Do I need to get a new dish to go to HD? If I don't, can I keep one of the 501's running?
Does the 501 clash with new HD programming on the SD TV?
If I switch to the 622 reciever, it feeds two TV's, one HD and the the other SD, my question is are both remotes UHF? The sets are far apart.
I noticed that some HDTV's have more resolution, up to 1920X1080, is it worth purchasing a better resolution set?
I am the type of person who HATES leasing equipment, should I bite the bullet and purchase the reciever(s)? I don't want to spend more than about $60 a month.
thanks everyone!

I'll try to answer some of your questions.

If you currently have one dish 500, you will either need a 2nd dish or a dish 1000 to replace the 500.

The 501 will not "clash" with the 622. They can both be on your set-up

The 622 comes with one UHF remote and one IR remote. The idea is to use the IR remote in the same room as the 622 receiver, and use the UHF remote in the TV2 room.

Type of set and lease vs buy are more personal decisions. Also, I'm not sure what programming level you were expecting to have. To stay under $60, you will probably have to go with AT100 plus HD. There is a new DVR advantage plan that will give you AT200 with locals with HD for $70.

If you only have two sets, you can use the 622 in dual mode at both locations, and you wouldn't need the 501. Or, you can keep the 501 at the 2nd set and use the 622 on the HD set in single mode.
