I just discovered the other day that the blue/green remote keys on the 5.0 IR Remote #1 and the 6.0 IR/UHF Pro Remote #2 can be removed, turned over and reinserted. What would this do either for my current 625 receiver or for my future 622 receiver? Also, I guess there are four switch positions on my remotes, but that the keys only allow two of them to work. Would the other two unused positions be of any use to me? BTW, these remotes do not have the A/B switches in the battery compartment like the newer 622 remotes.
As an FYI, I am using the 625 in single mode. I am using Remote #1, 5.0 IR, away from the receiver's location via IR repeaters. I am using Remote #2, 6.0 IR/UHF, at the receiver's location because the receiver is behind a solid wooden cabinet door. I would expect that I would use the same set up for the 622.

I turned the blue key over to green on both remotes, so now my wife and I each have a remote to control our 625. I have it connected to one TV (single mode). Keeps us from having to pass the remote back and forth.

Thanks for the reply. But if I make both remotes a green #1, I won't be able to use either one at the receiver location where there is no IR available unless I keep the cabinet door open all the time so the remote can "see" the receiver right?
Anyway, glad to understand that I can change a #2 to a #1. That could allow me to have an extra remote when/if I get a 622.

I've flipped keys in my remotes but my 5.0 IR remote (118575) doesn't allow its key to be removed. Maybe I'm just not willing to exert the force that appears to be necessary. Even without removing it, I can see some of the "underside" and it is green on both sides. The same is true of the IR only 5.2 remote - it can't be flipped over.
My 6.0 UHF Pro (118579) doesn't have 4 switch settings - there are only two. The keys from a 6.2 or 6.3 position the switch to the extremes of the 4 positions, and putting one of them into my 6.0 breaks the switch mechanism such that it is now necessary to pry it apart if one wants to change it between the two positions it supports. I'd be very careful attempting to move a 6.0 switch beyond the central two positions.
On a 6.0, you should see that the key is a blue 2 and says UHF pro, and on the other side, the green 1 doesn't mention anything (it is IR). That allows a 6.0 to control TV2 (UHF Pro) or TV1 (IR). That is what you could use it for on a 622 as well.
The 625 differs from a 622 in that you can select a check box on TV1 to enable it to operate via UHF Pro. That allows you to use a 6.0 to control TV1 by simply setting its remote address to whatever TV1 is configured to use (with the check on UHF). A 622's TV1 can only be controlled via UHF Pro if the remote is a 6.2 or 6.3.
If you have the dual output receivers in Single mode, the TV2 remote controls both TV1 and TV2 via UHF, and you don't need IR repeaters (except for IR through a closed cabinet door).
