Beginning February 8, 2007 SET, SET Max and TV Asia are now 3 hour delayed. I was thinking what incurred to have these 3 channels have their own west coast feed. Still possible for the 3 channels to relay the East coast feed here?

This is interesting. Basically what is happening is that SET was tired of repeating every program twice per day and wanted to run different programs. So, they can effectively double the types of programs they are showing.

I hope Dish gets this data over to TMS and also changes the name of the channel to add a W or P designation.

Looks like all the religious programs have been shifted, don't you think everyone has a DVR, Doesn't Charlie know we West Coast people don't want this change in our Pacific time zone. I have a DVR now, my right to choose! I WANT TO SLEEP EARLY :nono2:

My wife is very upset because of this change. Says all her original timers don't record her Hindi serials at all. The problem seems to be that the guide data is all wrong, according to East Coast feed. She set up all manual timers shifted by 3 hours, but this is turning out to be a major headache. Sometimes what she wants to record is a 30 min program, but the 3 hour shifted program is 1 hour and doesn't align very well; or vice versa which is worse and requires 2 manual timers to be set, or end times extended.

Not to mention, the titles of the programs all show up wrong as they're for some 3 hour shifted programs. It is not possible to tell looking at the recording list what program you're going to watch next due to random title, or worse yet the "Manual Recording" from hell.

Who requested this stupid change? Is DISH to blame here, or are individual channels (TV Asia, SET) to blame? For people with DVRs, of which DISH subscribers in California are majority, this is a huge nuisance. At least get the freaking program guide data fixed to reflect reality. Considering that they charge bloody premium for these channels, it is infuriating that they've caused this annoyance.

You could always swing a dish back over to 61.5 to get back on the east coast feed...

It is very hard to get 61.5 for many in the West Coast.

Basically, you had some very vocal Indian folks on the West Coast who requested this change, which I feel is terrible as well. It is likely the non-DVR crowd of course because who in their right mind would watch the psychic commercial and not fast-forward through it...

They need to change the name of the channel as I indicated and get a second guide feed going.

148° points above the Pacific Ocean and 61.5° points to a satellite that is above Venezuela and not reachable in the west (Trust me dont try this at home if you live in the west, generally a blackout occurs with a reading of 95% red signal :eek2:)

Turn off your recievers at night so the program guide can update and your recordings can be correct.

This has nothing to do with people having DVR's fast forwarding commercials. Psychic commercials appear to be promoting their business since their in the United Kingdom. When I grew up I watch American channels. 20 years ago usually they hype about psychic commericals since indian channels weren't available back then. Look how it is today. Read the fine print on their black bullentin, The networks are NOT responsible about the ads.

If Dish Network can't keep the customers who have SET, SET Max and TV Asia on the west coast happy, delaying 2 hours of the feed would be nice.

You're not profficient in installing dishes. :(

Tell me about thousands of of them pointed to 61.5W and has been done _before_ 148W lite up.
I did some of them, had no problem with a signal if that point of installation have unobstructive line of sight.

I thought DISH had the exclusivity on this, no? I haven't ordered it yet.

Is there a partial deal, where I could order from Super Sixes round? I don't feel thrilled to pay premium for watching Bermuda vs. Netherlands or Canada vs. Uganda or whoever.

ICC has made this into an absurdly long 2 month tournament. It needs to be shorter. I think Michael Holding complained about this dilution of quality, and I agree with him.

CWC this time around is covered by both E* and DTV.

I agree with u about the lengthy duration. last time dish had 250USD from supersix onwards.

This time though there is no such thing but the whole package is priced at 199.95 by both the networks which is reasonable considering that its the world cup.

Iam awaiting responses from others b4 deciding on E* or DTV.

Thanks

This appears to be wrong advice. My receiver (942) gets its guide data every night at 3am and I believe SET is still three hours off. It is a simple reason why..the SET in the guide data is the same for the one as on 61.5. I am under the impression that they need to change the name of SET to SETW or SETP in order for the guide data to sync.

My psychic commercial comment was an attempt to throw in some humor here on this topic. Basically, I feel the only folks that caused Dish to change the feed were those without DVRs. Cause, if you have a DVR, you were not missing any of your shows (and can thus also fast-forward through the commercials). Speaking of commercials that Dish does control on SET, they are still running an old AT commercial that has the wrong prices I believe. Sloppy.

It would have been better to get those folks a DVR if they had a complaint about the showtimes than to delay the feed.

Well, the best news of this is the lower price. The reason for this is because both DirecTV and Dish have the package. They are matching each other's price. Typically buying the package runs cheaper than buying individual or just some of the games since they have often charged too much for the smaller pieces, but who knows, if one satellite providers cuts the price on later to come mini-packages, the other will match.

Dish would have definitely charged at least $300 if DirecTV was not offering the package. Competition is important.

The main reason for picking Dish is to get the free online access via Willow. DirecTV is not showing warm-up matches..I suspect that Dish is getting the same feed, so I doubt they will be showing those either, but IF Dish was showing warm-up, then Dish is the better choice there also.

Adv with Directv:
They are offering one month free Hindi Direct 11

Saw India vs. Holland on last night -- appears to be the warm-up game.

Dish made no committment for these games, but it is great that they are showing them.

The super sixes are on mediazone.com.

Dish Network keeps having that scroll that they are pleased about the west coast feed! [ugh]

Hope the "thumbs down" icon was not addressed to me, personally.
