ch 204 was totally missing in my "all chan." guide last night (AT 200). Not even the Biography channel was there (I did find the Bio channel inthe "Free Preview section however).

And, I thought the only way to see Nancy Grace's face was gonna be, looking at her older brother's photo in my 8th grade yearbook :) .

I guess we really don't know about A&E Crime... During the LifeTime dispute it lasted long enough for Dish to get an agreement with another channel... but this one with CourTV was resolved quickly enough that they didn't have time to get a contract with another channel as replacement so the pressure is probably off now.

i think give E* time and we will see A&E Crime...

You could have still seen her on CNN Headline every night after Glenn Beck!!

Maybe they will add the new A& E crime channel in the top 100 for the folks who lost court tv to the top 200.

Like i said to begin with that CourTv being pulled was another chapter in the Cinemax/HBO dispute with Time Warner. No extension on negotiations was approved because HBO and Echostar were filing paperwork over HBO/Cinemax.. now that that is straightened out, CourTv is back...

The long, ugly and well-publicized carriage dispute between Time
Warner's Turner Broadcasting System and EchoStar seems to be
over. On Friday the companies announced an affiliation agreement
that will reinstate the popular Court TV on the company's DISH
Network satellite TV service.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but DISH said the network
would be available on its America's Top 200 programming tier on
its former channel 204.

In a joint release the companies said "both parties are pleased
with the financial terms of the agreement."

This court is back in session.

Still it would be nice for the top 100 subs to be able to get a new channel in place of the Court tv that moved to the top 200 programming pack. A new channel like A & E Crime and Investigation would be nice replacement for the one they lost.

After all the maoning about losing this channel absolutely no fanfare for its return? :)

Looks like Dish was right... nobody cared much about this channel.

I think a lot of people that liked Courtv switched to Directv or cable. I don't really like it that much but it's my wife favorite channel. After the Lifetime and then Courtv she just got feed up and wanted to switch to Directv. We have had Directv now since the dropping of Courtv on Dish. So, far we pretty happy and did get a good deal with the switch.

I got a call from Dish retention dept. this morning letting me know Courtv is back and wanted us to come back. I told her we were happy with Directv. I couldn't really switch even if I wasn't happy because we signed a 1 or 2 year commitment.

Depending on what channel you watch and how contract negotiations go between Directv and individual programming providers, you could end up with the same scenarios with Directv. Fortunately Dish and Courtv worked out their issues, but lost a few customers in the process. :icon_cool

E* managed to gain 310,000 customers (D* gained 235,000) during the quarter that CourtTV was off. There does not seem to be a channel that E* has lost temporarily that has hurt them on the overall subscriber numbers. (Unless, of course, you believe that E* should be doing a lot better than they are at adding customers.)

There going to lose me over MLB not being broadcast. They snuck that one right under the nose.

I have been with them 6 years, plus have had troubles with the "new" refurbed 501 not picking up the stations, just getting a lost satellite connection. If I leave it there for 5 minutes to infinity, it might come in. It's random stations but effects about 10% of the stations and always seems to be the station I want to watch.

They sent a refurb 501, did the regular checks, signals are strong on 119 and 110 both close to 100 on transponder 2. I have a twin LNB and-have switched the line to the other LNB out let as I am only using 1 didi not change a thing. LNB is 2 years old as rental couple took my dish down and left with a new dish and my LNB was broke, nice guy, he was a Navy JAG officer. It seems to be getting better but very slowly.

If I try a rewind , the screen can go green or red and shut the whole deal down and does the internal check 1-5 checks and then downloads the receiver even though it was updated the day before. The CSR was helping, obviously new was nice and then admitted the had trouble with the software but then the line went dead. Wrote Dish and they said the phone call was accidently dropped accidently and that Dish has had no trouble with the software on the 501.
It's been about a month and no improvement and I miss baseball. So maybe time for a change at least here in So Cal. I also have a house in AK where we have another
home and a dish hook up.

Great! I was missing my Catherine Crier and Dayle Hinman fixes!

Crier has been cancelled, apparently they are rebranding CourTv, so next year no more CourTv.

Not that I watch it or anything turned it there a couple weeks ago on her show and it was the last one, googled the reason of the cancellation and seen that they are rebranding it.
