"Moving" question...

Can I "move" with the HR20 as easily as I was able to with the HD-tivo?

Specifics:
I live in North San Diego County, California.
I am currently getting Los Angeles locals for the sole reason of following the LA Dodgers on the LA Fox Sports Channel - Fox Sports West 2

From what I gather, some/most of the Fox Net games will be broadcast in HD next season (stop and correct me if I'm wrong here...)
Thus I'll need the HR20 to receive and record the HD feed.
With a couple phone calls, I can 'move' back to Encinitas, upgrade to the HR20. and then "move" back to Los Angeles.

I guess the big question revolves around the spot-beam of the locals.
If my dish is in Encinitas, but DTV thinks it should be somewhere in LA can I still receive the spot-beamed locals?

Not sure if the LA Spot Beams cover San Diego. But for now it doesn't really matter because the LA locals are also available nationwide in MPEG2 HD format (Chs 80's).

to the best of my knowledge...Fox Sports HD stuff is only on the spot-beams in mpg4.

FWIW: I get [4] spot beams from over 100-150+ miles away & "mine" from 50 miles.
Of course YMMV. :)

From first-hand experience, yes you can get the LA spot beams in San Diego, including the mpeg4 HD (I get signal levels of around 98 for both transponders on the 103 sat for LA and San Diego)..could probably get 100 with a little more tweaking on the dish....

Thanks much for the info.
Now I just need to start looking for a good deal on the HR20.

I wish I could find some hard info on how many/how often the Dodger games will be shown in HD. Might not even be worth it...
