That first satellite will still quinch alot of peeps thirst for HD though. I don't think it will be a terrible setback.

To elaborate, the first satellite will carry all of the national HD that will be available this year, and probably still have room to spare. The second satellite is extra national capacity, and local spotbeams. So if you've already got your HD locals, the delay won't effect you at all.

I don't want to be a party pooper, but this topic isn't quite apropos for the Cutting Edge forum. And its already being discussed in several general DIRECTV and General DBS forums. One such thread: http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=77079
I do want to thank beenwatchintv for the update. I hadn't seen that particular version of the story, and am actively trying to follow the situation. (Ok, I'm a geek, I like watching how this will unfold.) :)
Cheers,
Tom

Have you considered getting an OTA and plugging it directly into the set? We just got a $25 antenna from Phillips at Circuit City and it works great. I know you have a lot of mountains, but I hope this will work for you.

Thanks for the suggestion but too many hills where I live. Cannot get them that way either. Thanks!
