I have like about a month with my upgrade of the h20 receiver. For the past 3 days while I am watching something, the screen goes black for about 5 seconds and the message appears saying that i need to activate the card with the 7xx code. This last about 5 more seconds then i get to see the programing again. Is this a problem with the receiver? Should i have to cal D* about it?

Thanks in advance.

My wife said she noticed it a couple of times last night.

Had the same issue last night myself. Game went blank, system told me similar/same on screen message.

I have had it in the past a few times as well.

Usually changing the channel, wait for new channel to come in, and then switching back has nearly always eliminated the issue. I have also had to perform a full RBR to clear the issue as well.

Welcome to the H20

Same here, last night I had to do 2 RBR's to fix that problem and those did not work right.

Remove the access card and reinsert it, if that doesn't work do a RBR.

I've had that happen several times, removing/reinserting the card usually fixes it.

What does RBR stand for? I assume Rebooting, or a cold start reboot?

Red Button Reset. It is right next to the card slot.

I had the same problem, it was happening about 3-4 times a day and then on Friday I turned it off and Saturday it no longer worked. It just says searching for satellite. I tried rebooting didn't help, moved my Tivo in and checked the line, it gets 99% signal...hooked back up the H20 still says searching for satellite...all 0 in the setup. Went through the whole ordeal with D* Tech support...long story short, they are sending a tech out to look at it next Tuesday. I asked if they could just ship me a receiver, and they told me not until a tech looks at it. Ridiculous..so now I will go about 2 weeks with a receiver down. I got the receiver, packaged as a refurbished unit, from D* on Jan 25th.

It could be your access card or your access card reader in the receiver. Does OSD 762 ring a bell?
