A quick shoutout for this quirky, great show. Series 2 of Life on Mars started this week on Tuesday night on the BBC. Airs Tuesday nights for the next 8 or so weeks (if last season was any indication). Series 1 was one of my favorite shows to come from across the pond, and I've been really looking forward to seeing if Sam makes it back to the present day by the end of this season!

I'm assuming it'd be on BBC America again. Of course i'm still looking for the first season on DVD and I mean DVD's that are made for American DVD players. I know there's ways to get international versions of DVD's to work if you do this that or the other or get the right machine or whatever. I just want to buy the DVD's put them in my player that I bought at my local electronics store and have it work. I don't really want an education in electronics just to watch a TV show!

The question is when will it be back on BBC America?

Well I saw the first two episodes and while I certianly enjoyed them there seemed to be something a little disjointed about them. Can't quite put my finger on it but something didn't quite seem right.. I give these two a "B". Still damn good.

Rumours of a Spin-off series are going round in the UK, based on DI Gene Hunt and the other Life on Mars team members, it is to be set in 1980 and is to be called Ashes to Ashes.

Oh my goodness.. Watching Gene Hunt evolve from 70s Tough Guy to 80s man? Oh lordy THAT could be funny :)

S02E08: The Finale
Airs on Tuesday, 10th April 2007 at 21:00 BST on BBC One

Bringing down Gene Hunt and his unlawful policing methods seems to hold the key for Sam's return to the present day.

Sam finally asks Annie to spend one night in his company. Her response suggests she's a bit of a slapper, but in the more literal sense of the word.

A pivotal scene with Sam and Frank Morgan takes place in a graveyard. Several tombstones shed some light on what might be going on.

Gene goes on a very dangerous undercover mission, using a railway set and toy soldiers to help visualise the cunning plan.

Ray owes Sam for indirectly setting him up with a nice nurse.

As for the ending, you'd better tune in next Tuesday night on BBC One, although a more recent David Bowie single than 'Life On Mars' offers a big hint, if you delve into his early '90s material.

My first thought was "Under Pressure" but that was from the 1980s.

Any truth to the rumor I read that there *is* a 9th episode that is an "alternate ending" to the series and may or may not ever be shown?

And now we know what "Mars" is..

What an unbelievable series finale... I real *ending*.. Definite mixed feelings. A very satisfying ending, well done with lots of twists and turns but....

...now there's no more!

Glad to hear season two was good. Now how about when is it scheduled to show on this side of the pond? Or better yet how about season 1 & 2 on US compatible DVD's!

Finally had a chance to watch the end, and OMG that was brilliant. Loved every minute of it, a great ending to a wonderful show. One that I'll definitely keep around and watch again. Wow...
