I just recently got my HR20 set up and got WMP 11 and also Twonky running on two different PCs. The unit sees both PCs, but when I browse in I cannot get any further than options such as "Album" under Music, or "All Pictures" under Pictures.

I can browse all the way there, but when I click on "Album" I see nothing.

I can open WMP or Twonky and see that the files are being included... but the unit just doesn't display anything.

I assume I am supposed to hit "select" on "Album" and it should display a list of the music I have available?

Basically none of the folders work.. not even the "Folder" or "Folders" options.

If I restart Twonky, the unit shows that the server has gone offline, then shows it available again in the Menu... no popup ever happens to say the server is online though.

I have sharing set. I double checked to be sure that rights don't seem to be causing an issue.

Is this a software bug, or am I missing one step in both apps?

First I would turn one of the servers off so that only one is running at any given time. When you did the install of Twonky, did you select to start it as a service? Did you download and install the addons for the LAME support?

BUMP!

I'm having the same problem as the OP. I am running the the 14B CE version but haven't been able to drill down into any music folders for quite some time.

The music features used to work, but stopped working inexplicably back in Feb. or so. I've tried the following to no avail:

RBR
Reboot computer
restart router
uninstall and reinstall WMP 11
Installed Twonky (and LPCM addons)
stopped and restarted UpNP service and windows media player sharing service

The HR20 can see the computer, the computer can see the HR20 and my router can see everyone. I'll bet there is some obscure little setting somewhere that needs to be changed, but I've run out of things to try.

Anyone have any ideas? I miss not being able to use this feature.

With the help of Twonky Support and other Forum Members:

Install new version 4.2 of Twonky Media (purchased)
Download and Install LPCM plug-ins in CGI-Bin Directory (from Twonky)
(make sure you have: mp3-lpcm.desc and lame.exe files)

Re-register, rescan your directories, verify your network connection to your HR20

Plays only MP3's

Most MP3's will play but not all for some reason.

More info. on MP3's: Windows Media Player may add album art which prevents music from playing after ripping music.
Rip your music with MediaMonkey. It removes the title of the song but its well worth the trade off to play music.

Hope this helps for us newbies.

I just wanted to close the loop on this topic as I found a solution (at least for me).

I had WMP11 rescan all the library folders. That has seemed to fix the problem where the HR20 couldn't "see" any of the music in the music folders.

Of course it still craps out every 5th song or so . . . Maybe eventually they'll get around to fixing that.
