I turned on the HR20 when I got home a little while ago and noticed those five channels in the guide. The description for each channel is A3 Norfolk virtual(5 WRAL, 11 WTVD, 17 WNCN, 22 WLFL, and 50 WRAZ). When you try to turn to those channels you get a searching for satellite signal message. Today is also the first day that I noticed that I was getting a signal from the 99 and 103 satellites. Does this mean that HD locals are in the process of being turned on for Norfolk, VA? Thanks in advance for the helpful answer that I will receive.

Those are all Durham / Raleigh / Fayetteville NC stations. Not sure why they are on your guide.

Perhaps this is evidence of D*'s attempt to widen the Raleigh/Durham HD spot beam to comply with their agreement with Capitol Broadcasting that got them to allow WRAL HD/WRAZ HD on D*?

I have the same thing. I was gonna call customer service about it but wanted to see if anyone here had posted about it.

I notice the additional channels Friday evening...I performed a sat setup and noticed additional sats being rec'd. Maybe this is the precursor to receiving locals in HD....we wrer slated to get them before the end of 06.

Same here in NE North Carolina. I tend to agree with Newshawk on the widening of Raleigh DMA spot beam. Just curious now as to whether D* can be talked into letting us have these, since our window for activation for the Norfolk DMA was Dec. 06 and has now been reported to have been pushed back to "late 07"

Don't count on getting these channels in your area. Your local channels will never allow that.

The channels show up based on your setup location.
However, the current spotbeam doesn't quite reach you yet.
This is supposed to be fixed sometime this Spring/Summer.
