I believe that this problem with "Channels I Receive" started about a year ago in which every subscriber's DVR (UTV, DTIVO and DVR+) flagged all channels as ones you received. This causes a problem when your DVR does searches and tries to record Wishlists on the DTivo units and Autorecords on the DVR+ units.

Does anyone know when this will be fixed?

There is a work around on the DTivo units in that you can edit the Channels I Receive to reflect what you do receive. DVR+ DVRs do not offer this option. As this has been a problem for a year is there any plan to fix it?

That status is that the fix is rolling out, however... it is a BIG rollout as it is not just the DVR+ systems effected.

I don't have a percentage of where they are at with it, other then it is in full swing.

Does this mean more OS updates for SD and HD DTivos also?

I think that once all of the standard receivers get updated with this function, Ch's I Receive will get turned on or will be close to getting turned on. All of the standard receivers have not gotten the appropriate update yet.

Not specifically for this reason

I've seen 6.3c and 6.2a on my hacked units but what about 6.1a for the R10s? Are they just DST fixes or are other items included. Since I'm in AZ and we don't do DST I'm not planning on applying 6.3c or 6.2a unless they address other issues.

Primarily they are comming out now for DST.
There are some other "fixes" in them, but the TiVos are not effected at all by the Channels I Receive issue

Cool, thanks.

I can't wait for this fix. It's been pissing me off since day 1 of my install.

To be honest, it PO'd me too when I first switched to D*.
However, not having the option has forced me to create my own custom list that has not only excluded all of the channels I don't get, but also the ones I never wanted to begin with.
Estimating, I'd say that my guide has been reduced by at least 200 channels.
Well worthe hour or so I invested.
I call it my "Crap Free List".

I am a HUGE advocate of having a fully à la cart subscription option.
If I could pay $2-$3 for each of the channels I want, and not have my subscription dollars supporting useless crap I never watch, I'd save a ton each month.

Any idea how the CIR will handle OTAs that I might not receive? purely by auto test? By the OTA channel editting?

Cheers,
Tom

OTA Channel Editting, just like it is now.

Do I have to have my receiver connected to a land based phone line to receive fixes like this?

Not if you have a D10/D11/D12, H20, R15, or HR20

I still don't understand why they can't/won't/haven't added a filter to search only favorites.

Select -> Messages & Setup -> Settings -> Channels -> Channels You Receive

Actually... that is not a work around... that is just how you do it on a TiVo.
The DTivos don't have an "auto" Channels You Receive feature.

I don't recall setting the channels I receive back then, but I guess it's possible. A year ago and my mind grows feeble.

I have two DirecTV boxes. The original one is an old Hughes box, [I don't know the number off hand]. It has always been able to do a search and pick out all the channels I pay for. My newer DirecTV box doesn't have this feature [I think it's a D11 box].

The other thing the new box doens't have is the 'TURBO" feature which allows you to pick out your 9 most watched channels and have them pop up on the screen when you hit the select button on the remote. I wishi the newer boxes still had this feature.
