I apologize if this is the wrong forum. A few weeks ago I ordered the HR20. Directv told me I could keep the HR10 and move it to another room while keeping my R15 in my living room. The thing is I only have 2 TVs so I had no need for 3 DVRs. SO when the installer came I kept the HR10 and the HR20 activated and deactivated the R15. When I was on the phone with them to deactivate my R15 the guy was processing a recovery kit for me and we got disconnected. I called them back the next day to make sure they were sending me a recovery kit and they put an order in. 1 week later I still did not receive my recovery kit and emailed them. Here is their response:

Thanks for writing. I am sorry to hear about the confusion surrounding the order for the return kit for the HD-DVR that you recently disconnected from your account.

I personally researched this matter and the reason that the order did not process and send out the kit to you is that there is no need to return this receiver to us any longer. I have cancelled the order for the recovery kit due to there being no need to return this unit to us. I hope this information addresses your concerns.

If you have any further questions, please give us a call at (888) 355-7530 between 6:05 AM and 1:00 AM EST and a specialist will be happy to assist you.

Thanks again for writing. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Now clearly they are thinking I deactivated my HR10 since they say I disconnected an HD-DVR (which I clearly didnt since its currently activated and working now). So should I write them back or not bother? I have no need for the R15 but I dont wanna be charged for not returning it although having this email should keep me protected in that case. If I keep it what should I do with it? Can I make any money selling it?

Yeah you need to clear this out 100% with them or they will charge you for a receiver.

Do you own this unit or did you lease it? If it is a lease it needs to go back, If you own it, do what you want with it. You should get a glimpse of my D* graveyard. :D

If it's leased, you can't sell it anyway. If it's owned, put it up in the closet. You probably couldn't PAY people to get an R15, unless it's working perfectly, not buggy, and records every show it's supposed to and none it's not. In which case, talk to me.;)

Check your bill and see if it's leased (you'll see "lease fee" instead of the "extra receiver fee"). If you do actually own it then you can sell it or just keep it as an emergency backup if either of your primary DVRs goes down for the count.
