well, its finally time to hook up our hughes tivo since the installer couldn't do it three weeks ago since ' it wasn't on the work order' and 'we don't have any multi switches' on the truck....
funny thing is, my wife got a call yesterday from D* double checking what they were coming to do and the person on the other end goes through the work order asking if we are having the 5-lnb dish installed??? HUH?? so my wife tells her we already have the 5-lnb dish and we just need the multi switch and the lines run from it to the hughes tivo ...
from other posts here, i have read that since the installer gets paid anyways, if i let them keep the dish, what are they going to do with the extra dish?? if they keep it, who knows what they will do with it?? at least give me the dish and let me do with it as i please!!!:contract:
If theres a hd dish on your house already, I would highly doubt the installer is going to 'give' you a dish. I wouldn't. I would do what your job needs to bring it up to spec, and properly running.

LOL!! not like i'm going to do some nefarious deed or something!! LOL!!! just wondering what the procedure is( was) and all that.
well, it's the truth. Customers smile to your face, and 10 minutes later are ringing corporate saying whatever. You know in the retail biz, customers flat out lie to get their 'best' deal. And its no different, here. So, from my pov, I honestly don't care what they (the customer) do. Thats why I don't sugarcoat it. I try and not be taken as rude. It is what it is. I have nothing to gain, as I don't charge customers for anything, the company I work for does. Ex. A fellow installer had a four room install, yesterday. And also wanted her other 3 rooms mirrored, with new cable runs. Tech asked me for advice, I said mirror one (if line is already run) as a courtesy. Customer raised a stink and cancelled install. I said, ok, now you can go home and be with your family. Find out what that customer does for a living, and show up one day, wanting almost 1/2 of whatever she does for free. Anyway, back on topic, I do hope your service change gets done timely and correctly.

I have 2 extra dishes. Each time D* sends someone out, they bring another dish. Now I have spare parts :lol:

LOL!! hey i still have the box that my dish came in ( and it holds two of the dishes and hardware...) :nono:
