View Full Version : Recorded content stutters/locks randomly

I've seen the problem on the boards regarding general stuttering on the 622, but I have a little different problem.

My recorded content (SD and HD both) stutters/pauses/temporarily locks up continually through playback. It only seems to be recorded content, if I am watching live TV or if I pause live TV and watch it behind live TV it does not happen.

I have tried rebooting, unplugging it from the wall and leaving it unplugged for over a minute, etc. Nothing seems to help. It seems to happen randomly and it's on ALL recorded content. It seems to be getting worse over time.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I've call Dish and they are sending me a new unit but due to Dish's draconian policies for watching/transfering content I really have no way to get my recorded shows off the old 622 since I can't even use the analog hole to record the shows since they continually stutter.

This will be my third 622, and I'm getting to the point where I have absolutely no faith that the 622 will work properly.

Anyone else had a similar issue with the 622?

Mine works fine. I've had it for a month or so.

Sometimes mine will do that as well, but it ONLY happens on recorded content with Closed Captioning turned on. If I turn of CC, it's fine.

Check the temperature of the unit Hd, sounds like it is getting too hot. See this thread http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=70440&page=1.

Naw, it's not a heating issue. I have it completely exposed (sitting by itself on top of a cabinet with nothing immediately blocking it) plus I have a USB laptop cooler underneath it to give it additional cooling.

Also, none of these recorded programs are playing with CC so I don't think that's it.
