Subject to change, but this is the list right now.
Also, a fairly significant audio improvement coming hopefully by the Vegas race as well. More to come on that.......

Cool keep us updated and thanks!!

I don't think Jeff wants a camera in his car! Too bad as he has plenty of fans that would like him to be on Hotpass.

Maybe D* could stop advertising HP with Jeff Gordon in the spots? I mean we are going to be on the 3rd week of an extremely popular driver not being on HP. Why did I purchase this if he is never going to be part of the package? I don't care if this is Gordon's call...D* should have realized this before they pushed the heck out of it with Gordon being one of the focal points.

I'll miss Jr. but will probably mostly watch Hamlin on HP and the Fox feed. So far there's been a nice mix of drivers but I wonder why we seem to have a also ran Toyota on each week.

I'm guessing Toyota paid a lot of money much like Fox so when you see commercials on HP...they will be Toyota commercials. :)

With all due respect, the spots have primarily focused on Dale Earnhardt Jr. actually. Other coverage has included a number of drivers, yes including Jeff, but not a focus. There is one screen shot that was done months ago that shows a lineup of 5 drivers including Jeff, but that was just a representation of what a lineup grid could look like.
There are over 60 NASCAR drivers (yes, only 43 per week but not the same 43 as the pool is much larger of potential qualifiers). In the first 3 races we will have covered 14 with only one repeat (Dale Jr). On one hand we have some fans concerned that it would be the same 4 or 5 guys every week. On the other hand, some fans believe their guy needs to be there every week. Can't win for losing sometimes. :D
Just kidding. Trust me, we would love to have Jeff come in. Jimmie (his teammate and defending NNCS champion) was part of the package in week one. Jeff typically only has a camera in his car a few races a year is my understanding. That obviously makes things a bit more challenging but hopefully he will be in the lineup sooner rather than later. My 8 year old would sure like that to happen as he loves Jeff. Next week is week 3 of 37 races. Plenty of races upcoming.
Heck, if we keep our winning streak alive with HotPass drivers each week, we may find that all 60 drivers demand to be in each week. ;)

Actually whatever commercials you see on Fox are the same ones you will see on HP.
The minor exceptions are a few promotional spots we can run for Mega March Madness, NFL and such (when those run usually a local ad is running on the national broadcasts in that market).
Hope that helps.

My 8 year old is sending letters to Jeff's website. Encouragement never hurts.

I just want to see my man Martin Truex, Jr. once... just once!
But wouldn't it have been exciting to have a camera in Clint Bowyer's car for the finish at Daytona?

Not to turn this into a which driver is the best forum. But gordon is a little crybaby. It seems to me that this week they decided to have no popular drivers good choice hotpass. Why would anyone pay for this if they don't know whether or not their driver would be on it. I will not get this package unless i knew Tony stewart was going to be featured.

Will the user ever get to have the commercials reduced and the live feed be the dominant picture instead of having to squint and get a magnifying glass to watch the live feed while the commercials are blown up to fill most of the screen?
TO me this is the one thing D* can do to satisfy what users they have now paying for the national feed with a few extra bells and whistles.

That should make Truex fans happy - because he will appear after Junior wrecks.

Root for however you want but stop bashing other drivers. If I wanted to i could bash your driver Mrpalmer. Tony has given all of the NASCAR nation plenty of material to blast him with. You know Tony is a local around here quit a few people i know know him personally. And i would like to pull for him but when i get to the point that i think that he has matured to the point that i would be proud of the fact that he is from around here he dose something stupid

No i understand and sorry that I stated my opinion. I know Tony has a lot of Flaws(and i do mean a lot). i also know that Gordon is one helluva driver. The main part of my opost was the fact that Hotpass is leaving the Gordon's, Little E's, and Tony and Johnson out of the hotpass. I think this is not intelligent on there part. i would venture to say that these are four of the more popular drivers. I also believe that there are more fans individuals then of just the sport on a whole. For example I love Football but more importantly i love the Steelers. I would not get ST if there was only a chance that the steelers might be chosen as a "featured" game. Who would pay $99 for a possibility that your driver would be featured and plus get all the commercials that i am going to see by watching the Fox broadcast.
With only a 1/8th chance that my driver will be on there is no way that I will pay $99.

Yeah, like last year after one of the races (I forget which one now) he jumped out of his car, ran over, with his helmet still on, and sneaks up beside the other drive and shoves him..... What a chickensh.. Someone needs to send his whiny butt into a wall at 190 mph......

I agree. I think one of DirecTV's selling points so far has been the variety of drivers. To me, that's not really a selling point.
Most people who will subscribe to hotpass are those who have a fav. driver and want to follow them throughout the race, every week. As mentioned, it's similar to why most subscribe to Sunday Ticket.
Maybe next year there will be more than 6 channels. I think if one were to examine the popularity of the drivers, the top 5 or 6 would cover a vast majority of the fans. Even if there were 10 channels, it would give DTV the ability to, on a weekly basis, feature the most popular 5 or 6 drivers and still alternate for some of the less popular.
It'll be interesting to see how the drivers are chosen after the chase has been determined. To me, DTV would be crazy not to cover as many of the chase drivers as possible.

I believe you should have two or three top ten drivers in each week (voted), and the rest voted in on a weekly basis (where no driver appears in consecutive weeks).
I have to admit...driver selection is ONE improvement over In-Car. I was sick of seeing Michael Waltrip and Dale Jarret every week.

How can you say it is an improvement what they are leaving some wf the most popular drivers out. I understand they have a trouble with gordon because he doesn't want cameras in his car but what about Johnson, stewart, Junior. And i personnally liked having mikey because you knew he was going to talk and be funny.

Yeah, and at least one wreck each race, even if it is on a caution lap... :)

We've already had Johnson, Stewart and Junior twice in the two races so far.

With Week 3 in the Nascar Season only a few hours away, I would like to hear thoughts on this weeks Nascar HotPass drivers and whether or not DirecTV have made any improvements to HotPass or just left it the same as the first two weeks. Also I would like to hear any new suggestions or improvements you would like to see DirecTV add to HotPass, or any features you would like to be removed from HotPass.
Once again, here is the 5 drivers choosen for today's race starting at 4pm est:
Kurt Bush
Kasey Kahne
Denny Hamlin
Dale Jarret
Carl Edwards
**Just to remind everyone that voting is now open on DirecTV Hotpass website for the 5th Driver for next weeks Nascar race**
