Hi everyone. Names Anthony and i am new to DN and this site. I am in the Panama City, FL market and we have no locals in hd and i do not even recieve CBS. My question today is that if i call DN customer support and tell them that i have a buddy that does DN installs and he will be setting my up in the San Antonio area which has locals in HD can they move my service to show up out of there but keep sending my billing address to my current since i am in the military? Basiclly i want locals in HD out of San Antonio but i want to keep my reciever and bill out of here.
#1 will they go for it?
#2 Can i keep my sat in the location it is and still get the locals out of San Antonio?

Thanks for any help guys

No, what you are wanting is illegal. All providers, including satellite and cable providers, may only broadcast a local market's channels to locations within that market. This is per FCC regulation.

yeah i totally understand that. I was wondering if they could know weather i was telling the truth or not. How would they know that i was not in TX? Also is there any way to change my signal so that i can get other channels not just the ones i am getting

Your billing address does not have to be the same as your service address. You will have to work out your own install. The cities are close enough that the signals intended for San Antonio could also reach Panama City. No guarantees.

If you are paranoid about E* finding out it is probably best not to connect a phone line (which also means you will pay the $5 extra for not connecting a 622 to a phone line and risk a call from the audit team if you have several receivers). E* could figure out whether or not you are lying to them about the service address. Whether they will bother is another question.

Some day I suspect that they will audit accounts with different service and billing addresses, starting with those with addresses in different states. It is just a matter of time.

San Antionio's Dish HD locals (http://ekb.dbstalk.com/hdlocal.htm), which don't even include NBC, come from 110°, so they are on a spot beam (http://jameslong.name/spots/2375-25s22-15.gif). If you're getting a Dish 1000 (you're right at the edge of the 129 sat footprint (http://ekb.dbstalk.com/pictures/Dish1000Exclusions.jpg)), select something from 129°. Or pick a 61.5° market if you're getting a separate dish pointed that way.
