I think I know why there's a scroll-up captioning delay on the HR-20 at this point.
When scroll-up CC is rendered by my TV it puts the captions on a word or two at a time (unlike in block captioning where it puts two or three lines on the screen in one block).
Scroll-up captions on the HR20 are waiting for the entire line to be done before rendering. If the D* folks can set it to render as it comes in, I think that would fix the delay problem.
(Dunno how they'll fix the block captions from coming in line-by-line, but maybe it's related?)
