Why is it that DirecTV won't implement this feature? I know TIVO had it on their standalone units for a while and D wouldn't implement in their TIVO units.

Are they worried we're going to start "slingboxing" the programming all over the place?

Multi-Room Viewing via the Ethernet Port will be on the new HR20 Wish List (http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=80600).

You can pick up a SlingBox now and connect it to your HR20 now. The SlingBox can not only be used to watch shows that have been recorded, but can also control your HR20.

In the past I've shared programming from a single DVR throughout my home with a channelvision device (rebroadcast the DVR on a single channel). With the use of RF it worked well. It also saved money in extra receiver fees.

I should have done that in my new home, but decided against it because the RF remotes were always a bit picky about distance, etc.

So anyone know why D won't support this type of feature?

I know I've used the S-Video output into an RF modulator and sent that output [channel 3 or 4] to other devices. FWIW

Patience, tt is coming. Perhaps in the Hr20, definitely in an upcoming DVR. First is stability, and we're getting very close on that. Then VOD and DLB ( my hope) then other way cool features like MRV. Baby steps.

Cheers,
Tom
