If anyone from DirecTV is reading this thread, then please can you request for me that DirecTV adds WPFO-HD (FOX) to their local programming line-up for Maine?

D* already provides those of us in Maine with ABC, CBS. CW, FOX and NBC in standard definition and with ABC, CBS and NBC in high definition. Time-Warner cable in my area offers WPFO (FOX) in high-definition, so why besides regardng bandwidth can't D* offer WPFO (FOX) in high-definition? I know I could plug in an OTA antenna, but I'm not at all interested in OTA. I want everything sent to me by my provider (D*). I also wish that the local CW station in my area (WPXT) would create a high-definition channel. They haven't yet.

There are several stations around the US that don't broadcast their HD signal. WPFO is one of those stations. According to an article about the station on Wikipedia, they won't be broadcasting digital until New Years 2009.

What DirecTV would have to do is install equipment at the station to capture the HD signal just like Time Warner does now. In any event, the engineers or station manager are probably as informed as anyone on the progress of a direct digital connection.
