"The HR20 cannot scan for channels or manually add them. It relies solely on a database provided to DirecTV by Tribune Media Services. Zap2it.com is their website."

I pulled this off the DirecTV forum as an answer. Is this true? Is this really the site that houses the ota channels D* is using?

Tribune Media is Directv's source of information. And I just checked, zap2it.com is one of their websites.

Yes, and if the data is bad, the HR20 won't work on that channel. I have two missing channels, one additional that is mis-mapped...but they are minor.

Tribune manages the database, whether Zap2it.com is the right site, I have no idea, as I've never gone there.

If by "fix this" you mean OTA scanning, I completely agree.
On another hand, if you mean the data in the guide, there used to be sticky threads whereby you could post the information regarding the missing channels and Directv would get Tribune and the local stations to update the data.

And, several posters have had success contacting the stations directly and asking them to update their info in the feed to Tribune.

Cheers,
Tom

I recommend contacting your local station where you have the mis-mapped channel or other issue as they are the one that provides the data to Tribune and other services. Sometimes the local station is at fault. Most of the time, in my experience, the Data provider is at fault. The local stations programming department doesn't always know there is an issue until someone from the public contacts them. When you call the local station, ask for the programming department.

Additionally, I encourage you to check the AVS forum for your markets local HD section and see if others are having the same issue or if others have already contacted the local station.
