Had a PM install yesterday (earliest AM install was for next week). Installer showed up -- no call ahead -- at 3:30. The install was supposed to be with ConnecTV, but the installer was actually from KV Satellite.

The biggest glitch is that my kids are sick and my wife was laid out in our room with a migraine. The installer needed to run a second line to the bedroom which is where the R10 now lives. He did his best to keep the noise to a minimum.

The HR20 box looked new, and in any event, had HDMI and component cables plus an RC34 remote. Although I was told the dish would be an AT9, in reality it was a SlimLine, other than that everything went as expected.

He stuck around while I verified what I wanted, and was out of there somewhere between 5:00 and 5:30. I don't know enough to determine whether or not he did an excellent install or not, but I'm now able to view HD on my new TV, so for now it's all good ;) .

Did a software (0134) download take place? Did the installer stay until the download was finished? I am in Bay area too and have had problems with the software download. If he did, how long did the download take?

There was a software download, which happened automatically. He was here while it downloaded, but was running the bedroom while it was all going, so he didn't need to wait extra.

My installation was yesterday. The installer was great! The words "no" and "I can't" were not in his vocabulary. He reset the device and did the 0 2 4 6 8 to get it to load the latest software. He stayed until everything was working properly. I even gave him a tip! :D
