I am participating in the Windows Home Server (WHS) beta and am interested in setting up media sharing with the HR20. I have enabled media sharing on WHS an enabled the appropriate shares. WHS uses Windows Media Connect for media sharing - the same thing I am using for sharing media from my Vista Ultimate machine. I can connect using WMP11 on Vista just fine and my HR20 can view files on my Vista mchine just fine. The problem is that I cannot connect to WHS from the HR20. Any advice?

Did you set up your WHS to give the HR20 permissions to access it via the media server?

WHS is set up by default to allow any compatible device to connect to it. WOuld the XBOX 360 issues also affect WHS? I have been getting lock ups lately with the network cable plugged in

Have you seen any lockups on your Hr20 when you have WHS on the network the same time as the HR20? As soon as I bring my WHS box up, both of my HR20's lock up. See my post here: (http://www.dbstalk.com/showpost.php?p=861137&postcount=51)

I see the problem may be fixed soon. SHould this thread be moved to CE since I will be updating?

Now that I read up on the 360 issue, the HR20 may be locking up when the client pcs on your network are pinging WHS for media. Just a thought.
