I just had a new HR-20 installed today. I was recording a program tonight and went to change the channel and it told me there was a problem that I was recording and I couldn't change the channel and if I wanted to change the channel I had to stop recording. There are two lines running to the back of the receiver from the dish and I have checked the signals on tuner 1 and 2 and I get a signal is the 90s on every transponder except for 1 or 2. What could be the problem? Any help would be appreciated. If anymore information is needed please let me know. Thanks.

Are you sure you were NOT recording another show at the same time on the other tuner. When both tuners are occupied, you only have the option to either watch what is recording on the two tuner's or a previously recorded show.

If you're recording 2 shows it will list both and ask which one to stop.

A quick test would be when you're not recording to select a show to record, then try to change channels. Whether it gives you the stop recording message or not, go back into the guide and select a 2nd program to record. If the unit allows both operations, then it might have been a glitch or you might have been recording 2 shows. If you get an error message on both of these tests, you're going to have to double check the connections.....

I had this problem when I first got my HR20. I was not recording anything at the time. Doing a red button reset (RBR) will take care of it.

Had the same problem as well.
Loose connection courtesy of my friendly installer was the culprit.
