I read many posts on this site about bad installers, installers that dont show up and customers frustrated in which the way they are treated. I have been installing dishes since the 80s but dishnet will not recomend us or even give a potential customer our name.Dish net seems to like to farm out their installs to "the big guys"with many employees and the ones that cant keep up with business. While guys like me with years of experiance and take pride in my work rely on a sign in our storefront and word of mouth for business. Installing dish is a side line for us we do TV and appliance service/sales and install antennas and dishes. Average dish installs is only 4-5 per month but could easly double that if dish would give us leads in this area. I think disnet policy is if you do less than 30 dishes per month you dont count. Yesterdays install was for a customer dishnet said they couldnt get to for 2weeks.Word of mouth brought her to us so she is now happy with her 2-322 system. My advise for all you waiting for an install is to seek out the little guy.You will get better faster service becouse we want you as a return customer for our other products. You are not a number to us.

Excellent point, Dave. I saw the writting on the wall years ago and am now, pretty much, out of the satellite business. When I was on the voice referral system a few years back I did a fair number of installs that were referred to me. When the competition beat Dish to the market with locals the voice referrals stopped and, of course, my sales went down to the point that I was no longer listed on the voice referral system. I'm glad that when I started in the Dish business that I knew it would be rather short term and made other plans to fall back on.
